What the developer says
AREAZ was built before generative AI. Its code, art, sound and animation are my own work as a solo developer, or licensed from third-party creators. AI is now used for three things: Translation: existing community translations are updated and new languages added with AI assistance. Players told me they would rather have a machine translation than none. Interface icons: newer menu icons are created with AI assistance. Programming: AI tools help modernize the game's code from original BP to C++

Core art, sound, and animation are stated as original or licensed work. The developer has released only one game, with no signs of volume releases. Against: AI-assisted menu icons are in-game assets players see, so AI content does ship to players, though only as small interface details. |
