What the developer says
Tryll Colony uses generative AI in two ways. During development, the main menu artwork, the game logo and parts of the game's writing were created with AI, and the store page artwork is based on that key art. During gameplay, an AI model running locally on your own PC (Tryll Engine) writes the dialogue of settlers, traders and refugees, the narrator's lines, tavern gossip, the village newspaper and answers in the in-game Help, and voices them with local text-to-speech. No content is sent to or generated by cloud AI services. All AI features can be turned off in Options, and the game stays fully playable without them.

| AI judgment deepseek-flash | AI-heavy · AI scope: core · effort risk: mediumReasoningThe disclosure states AI writes and voices dialogue, narration, tavern gossip, the newspaper and help during play, which is core runtime generation. AI also produced the main menu art, logo and parts of the writing. The developer has only one game, not yet released, so there is no volume-release pattern. Against: AI features are optional and can be turned off, the game remains fully playable without them, and generation runs locally rather than via cloud services. |
