What the developer says
Carbon Conservatory was made by a solo developer using generative AI tools during development. All AI-generated content was created ahead of time and reviewed, selected and edited before going into the game. Nothing is generated while you play. Art: Character, enemy and boss sprites, animation frames, environment textures, props, interface frames, story illustrations and store artwork were generated with image models from the developer's prompts and art direction, then cut, corrected and assembled by hand. Video: The short cinematic clips that introduce each boss and area were generated with a video model from those illustrations. Audio: The music, boss voices and some sound effects were generated with audio models. Rapid combat sounds are built from CC0 recordings. The game's design, levels, combat systems and boss patterns were built and tuned by the developer.

| AI judgment deepseek-flash | Major AI · mixed signals, high confidenceReasoningThe disclosure states character, enemy and boss sprites, environments, props, UI, illustrations and store art were AI-generated, plus video cinematics and audio. That covers most major asset types, so scope is major. Design, levels and combat were made by hand, and the developer released only 2 games in 12 months, so effort risk stays medium rather than high. Against: The developer says all AI content was reviewed, selected and edited by hand, and that design, levels, combat systems and boss patterns were built and tuned by the developer, indicating real production effort. |
