Production signals

Facts about who made the game and how players received it. They don't depend on AI, and they help tell a carefully made game that used some AI apart from mass-produced ones.

What the developer says

Most of the game's 3D models started as AI-generated drafts: the buildings, the ships, the crashed colony ship, the landmarks on the world map and the space whale. We made concept images with an AI image tool, turned them into 3D drafts with AI 3D services (Tripo and Meshy), then reworked every model in Blender: cleaned up, simplified and recolored to the game's palette. The picture cards in the game and our store capsules and library art are renders of these same models. A few 2D images were made with an AI image tool and then cropped and cleaned up by us: the tutorial pointing hand, the trader badges on the map, and the Steam achievement icons. The in-game English text and the store description were drafted with the help of an AI writing assistant and edited by us. Store page translations were made with an AI assistant and checked by back-translation. Not made with generative AI: the island, sky, planets, crystals and visual effects, the helper robots and decorations, the interface and resource icons, and the logo. All music and sound effects come from licensed, human-made libraries (a few simple effects were synthesized with code). The game does not generate anything with AI while you play.

Reasoning

The disclosure says most 3D models started as AI drafts, and several 2D assets and text were AI-assisted, so AI covers major asset types. Every model was reportedly reworked in Blender, and music, sound, UI, and effects are human-made or licensed. The developer has one unreleased game, so there is no volume-release pattern.

Against: The developer describes substantial manual rework of models and human-made audio, UI, and effects, which points to real production effort rather than volume output.
