Production signals

Facts about who made the game and how players received it. They don't depend on AI, and they help tell a carefully made game that used some AI apart from mass-produced ones.

What the developer says

Groundhog Heist was designed, built and tuned by a solo developer. AI tools were used as helpers along the way: Many of the 3D models (animals, farm props and some characters) were generated with AI model tools, then placed, rigged, animated and adjusted by hand to fit the game. A few sound effects (such as the dog’s bark) were generated with AI audio tools. An AI coding assistant helped write and debug parts of the game’s code. Every feature was designed, play-tested and tuned by me. The game design, levels, farmer AI behaviour, mechanics, balancing and testing are my own work, and every AI-assisted piece was reviewed and reworked to fit the game. The game does not generate any AI content while you play.

Reasoning

Disclosure says many 3D models and some sound effects were AI-generated, so AI ships in-game but is not the whole game. Design, levels, mechanics and tuning are the solo developer's own work, with AI pieces reviewed and reworked. Only one release in the last 12 months, so no volume-release signal.

Against: Zero reviews shortly after release and all four of the developer's games disclose AI, but the release cadence is low and the disclosure describes substantial manual reworking.
