Production signals

Facts about who made the game and how players received it. They don't depend on AI, and they help tell a carefully made game that used some AI apart from mass-produced ones.

What the developer says

Generative AI tools were used during development. AI coding assistants helped write game code, including the procedural 3D models of the six Act II islands. AI image generation produced interface illustrations (botanical frames, coin and wallet art), the painted inventory icons and parts of the store and library artwork. In-game text was written with AI assistance and reviewed by the team; the French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese and Japanese translations were produced with AI. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and edited by the team. The game does not generate AI content during play or connect to an external AI service.

Reasoning

Disclosure lists AI use for code, UI illustrations, icons, store art, text and translations, so some shipped assets are AI-generated. Procedural island models and core game systems appear human-designed, and the team reviewed AI output. Only two releases in 12 months, so no volume signal.

Against: AI touches several asset types (art, text, translations, code), which could push scope higher, but most gameplay content appears human-made and reviewed.
