Production signals

Facts about who made the game and how players received it. They don't depend on AI, and they help tell a carefully made game that used some AI apart from mass-produced ones.

What the developer says

We use generative AI as a reference and drafting tool, and always finish by hand. Early in development we generated AI concept images to explore ideas and mood; those are reference only. Some 3D models start from an AI-generated base mesh that we use as a guide, then retopologize, retouch, rig and animate by hand; all animation and UI are made by the two of us. Some in-game textures were first generated with AI as a guide and then retouched by hand. The store key art is rendered from the game's own 3D characters and scenes, run through an AI tool for style, then composited and retouched by hand. Store text was drafted with an AI assistant and rewritten by us. The game does not use generative AI while you play.

Reasoning

Disclosure says AI was used for concept reference, base meshes and some in-game textures, so some shipped assets are AI-derived. It also states animation and UI are hand-made and no AI runs during play, showing real development effort. Developer has one game, not yet released, with no volume-release pattern.

Against: AI-touched textures and base meshes do reach players, and the store key art used an AI style pass; the disclosure is detailed and self-limiting, which points to genuine hand finishing rather than mass production.
