What the developer says
Twisted Childhood uses generative AI in several places, and we would rather set them out plainly than let you find them. Artwork: the illustrations started as AI-generated images and were then reworked by hand in Photoshop - repainted, recomposed and corrected - before going into the game. Music: no track comes from an AI music service. Every piece is synthesised by our own tools - writing them was AI-assisted, as the sound design was - then tuned, encoded and mixed by hand. Sound effects: the sound design was produced with AI assistance and rendered to audio files during development. English translation: the English text was produced with an AI assistant, then reviewed and rewritten where it mattered - the jokes, the wordplay and the characters' voices were reworked rather than translated word for word. The game itself is not AI-generated. The design is the developer's own: the five games and their rules, the Wishes and everything they do, the progression and the way the worlds fit together were all devised by hand. So was the writing - every line was written in French by the developer, and only its English translation was assisted. The game generates nothing while you play and connects to no AI service. Everything you see and hear was finished, edited and checked before release.

| AI judgment deepseek-flash | Partial AI · solid production, medium confidenceReasoningThe disclosure states illustrations began as AI images before manual repainting, and sound design and translation were AI-assisted. Core design, rules and original French writing are described as hand-made, with no live generation. Only one game from this developer, not yet released, so no volume-release pattern. Against: Artwork and audio are player-visible AI-assisted assets, but the disclosure describes substantial hand reworking and no live AI generation. |
