Facts about who made the game and how players received it. They don't depend on AI, and they help tell a carefully made game that used some AI apart from mass-produced ones.

What the developer says

Some of the 2D images in SplatStick were created with the help of generative AI tools and then edited by hand. Parts of the source code and the in-game interface text were written with the help of an AI coding assistant. Everything else is made by people: sound effects, particle effects and fonts come from licensed third-party asset packs. The game does not use generative AI while you play. Nothing is generated at runtime.

From the “AI Generated Content Disclosure” on the Steam store page, quoted as written. First seen by us on Oct 28, 2026.

Reasoning

The disclosure states AI was used for some 2D images and interface text, both visible to players, so scope is parts rather than none. Sound, particles and fonts are licensed human-made assets, and nothing is generated at runtime. The developer has only one release, so volume-based mass production does not apply.

Against: Zero reviews a month after release and a single release could hint at low effort, but there is no evidence of high-volume AI releases or AI covering most asset types.
