What the developer says

Salty is made by a solo developer. Game code was written with the help of AI coding tools and was reviewed and tested by the developer. Several music tracks, some sound effects and the English voice-over were generated with ElevenLabs. All store and promotional artwork was created by a commissioned digital artist. In-game creature art, animation, level design, Compendium text and all biology content were made by the developer.

From the “AI Generated Content Disclosure” on the Steam store page, quoted as written. First seen by us on Oct 28, 2026.

Reasoning

The disclosure lists AI-generated audio (music, some SFX, voice-over) plus AI-assisted coding, so AI ships to players. In-game creature art, animation, level design, and Compendium text are stated as developer-made, and store art was commissioned. Solo developer with no rapid release pattern and no released games yet, so effort risk is low.

Against: The game is unreleased with no reviews, so actual shipped content can't be verified; the developer's own account is the only evidence.
