Production signals

Facts about who made the game and how players received it. They don't depend on AI, and they help tell a carefully made game that used some AI apart from mass-produced ones.

What the developer says

Supporting artists and original creative work is central to how we make Return to Planet Zoveka. The game features original music, artwork and 3D models, and most of our external budget is dedicated to commissioning local artists and musicians. As a small team building our first game, we also use generative AI to explore ideas and iterate on selected visual assets. Some marketing images, cutscene backgrounds and in-game sprites use AI-generated base images that we edit by hand to fit the game’s visual style. As we grow our team, our goal is to make games that limit using generative AI assets.

Reasoning

The disclosure states AI base images are used for in-game sprites and cutscene backgrounds, so some shipped assets are AI-generated. It also describes original music, artwork and commissioned 3D models, indicating real production effort. The developer has released no games in the last 12 months, so volume signals are absent.

Against: The disclosure emphasizes commissioned local artists, original music and hand-editing of AI bases, and the game is unreleased with no review data.
