Production signals

Facts about who made the game and how players received it. They don't depend on AI, and they help tell a carefully made game that used some AI apart from mass-produced ones.

What the developer says

Whisper of the Divine uses live generative AI to interpret the words you whisper to your Demi-God and to create brief, context-aware dialogue during play. This is central to the game's conversational experience: you can guide a living village in your own words instead of choosing from a fixed list of commands. The game's developer-authored rules determine which actions are possible and how the simulation changes. During these interactions, the words you type and limited, relevant game-state context are sent to the OpenAI API. Generative AI is used only for live text. It is not used to create the game's artwork, 3D models, animation, music, sound effects, or voices. SoulFlux purchased and licensed the visual and audio assets from human artists and asset developers to support their work. Your purchase includes publisher-funded AI access, with no subscription or token microtransactions. If the service is unavailable or the account's funded limit is reached, the full game remains playable through its built-in chat and command system, but conversations will have less variety and personalized flavor. You may also optionally use your own OpenAI API key.

Reasoning

The disclosure states AI generates dialogue live during play, which is core to the conversational experience. Visual and audio assets are licensed from human artists, and developer-authored rules govern the simulation. Only one game from this developer, not yet released, so no volume signals.

Against: AI is limited to text; artwork, models, animation, music, and voices are human-made, and the game stays playable without the AI service.
