Production signals

Facts about who made the game and how players received it. They don't depend on AI, and they help tell a carefully made game that used some AI apart from mass-produced ones.

What the developer says

DAEMON: Lost in Memory uses generative AI in two places, both during development: • Store page artwork — the capsule, header and background images on this Steam page were created using AI image generation tools, then selected and assembled by the developer. This is marketing art only; none of it appears in the game. • Source code — parts of the game's code were written with the help of AI coding assistants. All of it was reviewed, tested and integrated by a human developer. Nothing in the game itself is an AI-generated asset. Every visual you see while playing — the levels, characters, effects, UI and title screen — is drawn procedurally by code at runtime rather than loaded from image files. There is no AI running in the game. Nothing is generated while you play, and the game does not send any of your input to an AI service.

Reasoning

The disclosure limits AI to marketing images and coding assistance, both outside shipped game assets. In-game art, UI and effects are procedurally generated at runtime, not AI assets. The developer has one game, no rapid release pattern, and no AI runs during play.

Against: AI-assisted source code touches the shipped build, though it was human-reviewed and tested; store capsule art is AI-generated but is marketing only.
