Production signals

Facts about who made the game and how players received it. They don't depend on AI, and they help tell a carefully made game that used some AI apart from mass-produced ones.

What the developer says

Grimshaw's Blotto uses generative AI for some of its visual art and music. All AI-generated content is pre-rendered during development — the game does not generate any content live while you play, and no AI-generated content is created from player input. Specifically: some card art, character imagery, textures, and background music were produced with generative AI tools, then reviewed, edited, and assembled by hand. Some store page and marketing images were produced the same way. All game design, rules, code, writing, and dialogue are human-authored. Some of these assets are placeholders and may be replaced with commissioned or hand-made work as the game develops. This notice will be updated if that changes.

Reasoning

The disclosure states AI produced several in-game asset types (card art, character imagery, textures, music), but all design, rules, code, and writing are human-made. Developer has only 2 releases in 12 months, so no volume-release pattern. Assets are pre-rendered and reviewed by hand, indicating real production effort.

Against: Several AI assets are described as placeholders that may be replaced; the game is unreleased, so final asset mix is uncertain.
