What the developer says
All artwork, characters, writing and music in Mia & Mio are created by hand in vector, without generative AI. Every character design and every pose is drawn by the creator. Generative AI is used to animate between hand-drawn poses. No characters, environments or narrative content are AI-generated. The store capsule is built on a generative starting point that has been heavily edited and overpainted by the creator. One trailer contains a sky background with generatively assisted elements. Mia & Mio has been in development since 2024. Every character, environment and scene begins as a pencil sketch and is drawn by hand in Affinity Designer. The game is built on a book manuscript written by hand and developed with human editors.

| AI judgment deepseek-flash | Partial AI · solid production, medium confidenceReasoningThe disclosure states generative AI animates between hand-drawn poses, which is in-game content players see, so scope is parts. Art, writing and music are described as hand-made with a long development timeline and human editors, indicating real effort. Only one game exists, so no volume-release pattern. Against: The developer says all artwork, characters, writing and music are hand-made, and AI use is limited to in-between animation and edited store/trailer assets. |
