What the developer says
Neo Light uses some AI-generated content created during development, including selected music, sound effects, background art, animation assistance and store artwork. All AI-assisted material was reviewed, edited and integrated by hand to match the game's final style and design. Neo Light also includes Glitch AI, an optional online feature that stays off until the player turns it on. The player's voice is transcribed locally on their own device and the audio never leaves it; only the resulting text is sent through our server to an external AI service (OpenAI), which generates a short in-game reply from Glitch. Replies are kept within the game's world and Glitch's sarcastic persona, limited in length, filtered for unsafe content and limited per copy (1,000 replies in the full game, 3 in the demo). Most of Glitch's dialogue, death insults, hints and command responses are pre-written and do not use generative AI. Glitch AI is not required to play the game: players can decline the privacy notice and play without AI-generated responses.
