What the developer says
All characters in Carceri are computer programs, that intentionally use obviously fake robo-voices when they talk. This VO was created using Amazon Polly's Text-To-Speech. Polly was a simple machine-learning tool back when I started in 2019, but has since been obnoxiously rebranded as "AI." Far as I know, Polly doesn't use human voices to train, its a deep neural-net simulation. As such, I don't consider it gen AI, as nothing is being stolen, but I'm still disclosing it's use in Carceri, for transparency. You can decide for yourself if this disclaimer is warranted.
